3 Small Scale Music Video Tips

1. Use Brand Endorsements

Reach out to local and small companies such as local merchandise brands and upcoming products who might be interested in placing their products in your music video. As a small artist, the $50 - $200 per sponsor would be very beneficial for video props, promotion or overall expenses. It's a great way to learn how to leverage brands and create opportunities to work with larger brands. Brand Endorsements can bring as much money as video streaming can bring.

2. Build your concept around connections/ locations you already have or have easy access too

Utilize your strong connections for props such as cars, shooting places, and extras. There are two types of connections within your network,

Strong Ties- A strong tie is a connection that you work with regularly or have created credible art with.

Weak Ties- A weak tie is a connection that has been dormant for a while but the connection is still there if you reached out.

Make sure to reach out to your strong connections first because they will be more lenient with letting you use equipment or locations without a budget

3. Make sure you incorporate unexpected costs into your budget

You should provide food on the set, such as coffee, water, and something light like cupcakes or muffins. Even though that will only cost $20-$30, it must be recorded or else it will be an unexpected surprise, and it's always better to be prepared.
